One of my favourite things as a lifestyle and fashion blogger is being able to collaborate and connect with like-minded individuals. This time around I teamed up with a few local bloggers (who I'm fortunate enough to call my friends in the blogosphere) to bring you all an Asian Streetwear Lookbook. What's exciting about this collaboration is that although we are all so different in style we are still able to come together and create something that appeals to each of our readers and viewers. In this lookbook, we all decided to wear an outfit that best represents each our personal stylesRead More
I swear some days it's just so difficult to get out of bed - just five more minutes, but you actually mean five more hours. And once you've finally mustered the strength to move there's the next step of getting ready and deciding what to wear which ultimately makes you want to curl back into a ball and pull the sheets over your head all over again. Maybe it's because of what feels like the longest and coldest winter we've ever had in years, but I know I'm not the only one who's snoozed their alarms one too many times in the morning. On my laziest days, I try to make my morning routine as painless as possible - which means having my closet stocked with classic pieces where I can outfit my day within minutes and still look chic, effortless, and comfortable.Read More
Vancouver's fashion scene is very small in comparison to the fashion capitals like London, Paris, Milan, and New York - but it is definitely growing... and quickly too! Last week, I was invited to the second installment of an underground event called VANCITY STREET - a night of fashion and style featuring local talent, and street style brands. And when I say underground I mean underground as the show was hosted at MIA, a local nightclub in Gastown that is situated below ground level where you are immediately greeted with tunnel-like hallways before entering the main room. The space also has a makeshift cave in the back, which I thought was so sexy. I mean, the models hanging out back there probably added to that as well.Read More
Well, it's that time of year again! Time to break open the piggy bank and start shopping for someone other than yourself, even though you're probably going to be buying yourself a gift or two along the way. It's somehow already December and before you know it it'll be Christmas Day! I usually save my shopping until the very last minute and if you're anything like me, being in a mall with a bunch of crazy shoppers while frantically running around looking for gifts is the last thing you'll want to be doing. I know I can save myself the agony by getting my shopping done earlier, but that just defeats the rules of procrastination. So, to save you all the mental stress (nothing I can do about the sore arms and legs you'll have from all of your shopping though) I've come up with a little Holiday Gift Guide for the minimalite in your life.Read More
So, last month I turned 25. I know, buckle up because here comes the mid-life crisis. When I was a lot younger this was the birthday that I grew up dreading. Everyone always said that this is the age when your life starts to go downhill - the hangovers are so much more real, you gain weight a lot easier, and you no longer get away with things simply by batting your eyelashes or putting on your best puppy dog face. You're an adult now. Shit gets real and let me just say, they weren't wrong (about the adulting part). But as I woke up the day after celebrating my birthday, with no hangover, I realized that it's really not that bad. I mean, I'm only a little over a month in but so far so good!
In the last year of my early 20s I did a lot of reflecting, learned a lot more about myself and became someone who I was proud of. I reminisced on those years and realized how different I am now compared to my early 20s when I thought I had everything figured out. Which is why I started to curate a list of 24 things I learned at 24.Read More
